The minister of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Nikolay Nikifirov, the Chairman of State Duma Committee on information policy, information technologies and communications Leonid Levin and representatives of the Internet industry also participated in the discussion.
In the course of the discussion the positions and approaches of the parties on the issue of digitalization of economy, appeared in this sphere for the past months were set out with the aim to prioritize them and to accentuate the most important ones, in which the dialogue and cooperation of the business and the state shall be most effective for both parties.
“Most our problems arise from the fact that sometimes the government holds the dialogue with the Internet industry in an inappropriate way. The government does not have a complete understanding of what the Internet is, they are afraid of establishing arrangements with the industry, and, as it is known, people are usually afraid of what they have no idea of exactly. This year we are safe to say that we have grown up as an industry. We, the internauts, have visits from ministers, deputies of State Duma, the President Administration represented by me.
The last year for our part was dominated by the fact that the industry wants to develop telemedicine, and we are glad that in the long run the Ministry of healthcare took a step towards us concerning this issue. We will definitely have some argues with the ministry on certain aspects, for example, our position is stated as follows: we need to achieve a doctor-patient model in telemedicine, despite of the Ministry of healthcare being very conservative on this point. But we see that in recent times a great flow of investors streamed into the industry, and that means that telemedicine will show a rapid growth.
For the following ”RIF+KIB“, I suppose, there will be 2 main tendencies. The first one is the focus on BigData, the ability to process a large amount of data. The second is the import substitution. It also involves the demand for our programmers and services of Russian companies. The coming year, as I believe, will pass under the aegis of the Internet of Things. We have reached the time when this industry has turned out to be comparable in volume with any other, and I hope that as such we will be able to feel worthy,“ German Klimenko said in his statement.
