The purpose of the visit was to monitor the condition of the hospital of the pretrial detention facility-1, where a new reception ward was opened last year. As the visitors were able to see, all necessary equipment had been installed in the reception ward, all relevant medications were in place, and qualified workers were in the employ. After the examination of the hospital a meeting on the questions of medical services for the people in custody in Moscow, at which, the possibility of use of telemedicine technologies in penitentiary facilities was discussed in particular, took place.
German Klimeko noted that the medicine itself is a pressing social issue, and the medicine in detention facilities, taking into account their community and the procedural rules, becomes a source of major concern.
“I think that the implementation of telemedicine services specifically in such institutions may be especially useful“, the Presidential Adviser concluded.
German Klimenko voiced the plans on realization of a relevant pilot project based on ”Matrosskaya tishina“, that may be launched n the next few months.
The Head of Federal Service on the Execution of Penalties of Russia for Moscow city, Colonel of the Interior Service Sergey Moroz also participated in the event.
