German Klimenko and the acting Head of the republic Alexander Brechalov took the floor during the official opening ceremony of the forum.
Speaking about the potential of the republic, the presidential adviser noted that Udmurtia is the region with a high technological potential:
“You have great IT-companies, that work for the whole Russia, and not only. They have orders not only in Russia, but also in the rest of the world. In this regard the potential is great. I hope that at the forum we will be able to discuss the way we would more effectively to integrate into the world economy — that is the external revenues that are very much needed by the republic.“
German Klimenko acted as a moderator of the site ”Discussion: IT – new markets and region's specialization“. The work of the section involved representatives of IT-companies, representatives of industrial enterprises and higher education institutions of Udmurtia republic.
Addressing the forum participants, German Klimenko told about the experience of attracting investors to a region:
“What do we need to attract investors to Udmurtia? If there was only one answer to that, our country would become a Klondike. But otherwise each region defines its own path. If one takes not only Moscow, but the neighboring Kazan, there they have already gone a long way in the IT-sphere. The IT-industry, one the one hand, looks very simple — children, for example, instantly master computer intricacies. But in fact it is not that easy to build it, as for example a Kalashnikov plant. The inviting simplicity sometimes lets down regions, like an evil joke. One needs to know how to communicate with IT pros, to create the conditions for development, for support and not to put pressure on them. The both sides should be partners. Only this could lead to the desired success,“ the presidential adviser noted.
After his presentation at the section German Klimenko took part in a working meeting with the acting Head of the republic Alexander Brechalov, and at the end of the event he visited a plenary meeting and the closing ceremony of forum ”Made in Udmurtia“.
