The Minister of education of the Russian Federation Olga Vasilyeva and the Presidential Advisor German Klimenko took part in the open lesson. The topic of the lesson was the professions that ensure the duration and quality of human life. The online broadcast of the lesson on the portal ”Proektoria“ and in the project groups in social networks ”Vkontakte“ and ”Odnoklassniki“ was watched by students, teachers and parents throughout the country. The previous lessons have already gained 10 million views and united more than 26 thousand schools. Students from Kursk, Kaliningrad, Rostov-on-don and Smolensk were in direct contact with the studio in a teleconference mode.
In the course of the lesson German Klimenko drew attention to the importance of using big data, which will make it possible to introduce telemedicine, which will become an important part of our lives in the future. ”Now in the world 4 billion ultrasound investigations, 500 million CTs and MRIs are made annually. The amount of data will only increase. Doctors can't learn with such speed. Training is a difficult process that takes 5–6 years. Modern technologies, of course, will not cure and will not replace the doctor, but our task is to speed up and improve diagnosis,“ the Presidential Adviser explained and advised students to strive to obtain several professions, since digital medicine is already a wide range of different competencies.
The meeting was also attended by the General Director of Federal state budgetary institution ”National medical research center for radiology“ under the Ministry of healthcare of Russia, head of the Moscow oncological scientific research Institute (Herzen Oncology Research Institute) Andrey Kaprin, rector of National Research Nuclear University (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute) Mikhail Strikhanov and the first deputy rector of Sechenov university Andrey Svistunov.
